Cathay Pacific scandals pictures and video - AFP news agency on Monday (08/08/2011) report, a number of photographs of scenes that have been published in local Chinese-language media. The photographs showed women dressed in red uniforms, which resemble Cathay cabin crew uniforms, perform oral sex on a man, who said the report was a pilot.

"We are conducting a full investigation of the issue and there are some indications that the woman shown in photographs it can be a member of our cabin crew," said Cathay spokeswoman said in a statement. "Our investigations are ongoing and we can not tell at this point," the statement said, without commenting on the identity of the man, who dressed in a picture circulating Cathay pilots were not in uniform.

"There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that the action takes place in flight, and there is no reason to believe that security breaches have occurred," added the spokesman.

The air hostess had served in Cathay Pacific for over 10 years, and she had just been assigned to work in Italy last Wednesday. But she had been summoned to return to Hong Kong for interrogation by management. 

Those pictures were originally stored in the notebook of the expat pilot, but somehow someone took photos of it direct from the notebook, and distributed them to friends through WhatsApp Messenger on their I-Phones and further onto Internet. 

A company spokesman was quoted as saying in a separate commentary for the daily South China Morning Post said, "One of the pictures appear to have been taken inside an aircraft cockpit. There is no no way to know for sure if the photo was taken when the aircraft was in ladasan or air."

Reports in the Hong Kong media said the pictures have been widely circulated in an online forum for pilots. The reports added that the two men in the photographs is a partner.

According to the Chinese-language newspaper, Apple Daily, the pilot, a stranger, has launched a lawsuit against the newspaper. The pilot said that the photographs had been stolen from his personal computer and that he had reported the case to the police.

Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong's top airline, has 13,000 staff worldwide, including more than 8,000 cabin crew and 4,000 people working at the airport.

Protest for Mark Duggan's Killing By Police - At least eight officers wounded in the protests were hospitalized, including one with a head injury, police said. The demonstrations started peacefully Saturday night when about 30 friends and relatives of the victim gathered outside Tottenham police station to protest his death. The protesters say the man, Mark Duggan, was shot by police Thursday.

About three hours later, the protests turned tense when the crowd got bigger and started hurling projectiles and bottles at police cars, setting them ablaze, authorities said. "We did not have warnings that we were going to see the kind of disorder being witnessed tonight," said Cmdr. Stephen Watson. "We are aware of raised tensions in the community, which are understandable following the tragic death of Mark Duggan."

Protesters pelted officers with bottles and bricks as police charged at the crowd and blocked off streets.

A double-decker bus and some buildings in the area were also set ablaze, sending bright orange flames glowing in the night sky.

"For those who involved themselves in this level of violence, there is no excuse," Watson said.

Watson said the perpetrators may be brought to justice. But for now, the priority is to maintain calm.

CNN's Aliza Kassim contributed to this report. Petrol bombs have been thrown at police, two patrol cars attacked and a bus set alight after members of a community where a young man was shot dead by police took to the streets to demand "justice".

The 29-year-old, named locally as father-of-four Mark Duggan, died at the scene in Tottenham, north London, on Thursday.

About 120 people marched from the local Broadwater Farm area to Tottenham Police Station on Saturday, forcing officers to close the High Road and put traffic diversions in place.

After night fell, two police cars parked about 200 yards from the police station were set upon. Later a bus was set on fire at the junction of the High Road and Brook Street, which belched black smoke out into the air and was clearly going to be completely burnt out.

Rioters were also kicking in windows down the High Road and hundreds of people were gathered in the street including mounted police as smoke poured into the air.

Police formed lines outside Tottenham Police Station and, armed with riot shields, marched down the road to clear the immediate area of protesters. At one point a protester ran in from a side road and hurled a petrol bomb at the officers.

A local woman, who declined to give her name, said: "There's a theory going on that the man who was shot had dropped his gun, but they still shot him. I'm hearing that most of the shops in the High Road are being burgled and robbed."

A building along the High Road, near the junction with Stoneleigh Road, was well alight, presumably having been set on fire by the rioters. Police advanced along the road with their riot shields, driving the rioters back.

Earlier a family friend of Mr Duggan, who gave her name only as Nikki, 53, said the man's friends and relatives had organised the protest because "something has to be done" and the marchers wanted "justice for the family".

It was revealed that Mr Duggan had been travelling in a minicab and was gunned down after an apparent exchange of fire. Officers had been attempting to carry out an arrest under the Trident operational command unit, which deals with gun crime in the black community, according to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

Saved Seychelles Warbler - Nature Seychelles (BirdLife Partner) has received a total of £40,000 to renovate the Cousin Island Field Station. The Seychelles Warbler Research Group comprising of the Universities of East Anglia and Sheffield in Britain, and the University of Groningen in The Netherlands have invested in the field station to aid ongoing Seychelles Warbler research, as well as to enlarge research capacity for other species.

The funds will be used to repair  the facility, upgrade equipment and materials for  researchers,  students and volunteers and generally make for a better working environment. The Field Station was set up by BirdLife International in 1971. It has served hundreds of students and researchers since.

“Cousin Island Special Reserve is a perfect site for scientific research. We have invested in it because it’s a natural laboratory where you can do controlled research in a contained, yet very natural, wild environment”, said Dr. David Richardson of the University of East Anglia, who coordinates the Warbler Group.

Seychelles Warbler has been the subject of intensive research by the group since 1988 and Richardson has been coming out to the Seychelles since 1997. Continuous monitoring has covered many aspects of the species' biology, and has shown for example how important an extended family is to Seychelles Warblers, just as it is to humans. The warblers often participate in what is called ‘cooperative breeding’, where young birds, especially females, and grandparents help in raising offspring. Other research has looked at female infidelity in the species and its reasons, and there is ongoing work on genetic variability. The Warbler Group has given scientific and public talks locally and throughout the world and has published papers in leading journals on many aspects of the warblers’ biology.

The Seychelles warbler story begins in the 1960’s when the total world population of 26 individuals lived in a patch of mangroves on Cousin and the species was close to extinction. The cause of the decline was loss of habitat – Cousin was then a coconut plantation - and the introduction of rats. To save the bird, International Council for Bird Preservation (now Birdlife International) purchased Cousin for conservation.

Management of the island was directed towards regenerating the indigenous vegetation and keeping Cousin free of rats. This led to a spectacular recovery of warbler numbers on the island, and by 1982 Cousin had reached carrying capacity. New populations were established on nearby Aride and Cousine to increase the bird’s population and range, and improve its chances of survival.

A 2001 action plan for the species aimed at getting populations on five islands, with a target population of 5,000 birds. Nature Seychelles undertook the fourth translocation to Denis in 2004 and the population is flourishing there. A fifth island will be added to the list by the end of the year.

Scotland is a special place for the couple, as it's where they met and fell in love while students at the University of St. Andrews. Wales, though, has been their home as of late, as it's where William works with the Royal Air Force when not traveling with Kate for family obligations.

In the biggest mass shooting in history, a gunman mowed down 84 politically active teens camping on an island, two hours after he detonated a car bomb which ripped apart the government building housing the prime minister's office in capital Oslo.

As harrowing testimony emerged from the holiday island where scores of youngsters were shot by a gunman dressed as a policeman, Norway's premier said the country would emerge stronger from the ``cruel act of violence''. 

"Never since the Second World War has our country been hit by a crime on this scale,'' Jens Stoltenberg told journalists in a press conference as police searched for more bodies on the idyllic Utoeya island.

Police are still conducting their investigation into the Norway massacre and the actions of suspect Anders Behring Breivik.

Norway's Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has formed the "22 July Commission" to look into the bombing and shootings that happened on Friday. Seventy-six people were killed and thousands are mourning.

Anders Behring Breivik has admitted to the attacks and is currently under police custody.

Anders Behring Breivik assumed he would be shot before he even got as far as Utoya, where he killed 68 young members of the Labour Party.

Norwegian police have been heavily criticised for their apparently slow response in getting officers to the island after they received the first reports of shots being fired.

Mr Lippestad said: “Anders Behring Breivik was a little bit surprised that he succeeded. Anders Behring Breivik was expecting to be stopped earlier by the police or someone else on the actual day.

“Anders Behring Breivik thought he’d be killed after the bombing, after the action on the island, and he also thought he’d be killed at the trial.”

Police confirmed that Anders Behring Breivik has been placed on suicide watch in his solitary confinement cell while psychiatrists assess his mental state.

This is, as of yet, unconfirmed by an independent source. However, this Facebook profile matches several descriptions of the Utøya shooter.

“I call on the Ethics Committee to initiate an investigation into the allegations against Congressman David Wu,” Pelosi said in her statement on Sunday. “With deep disappointment and sadness about this situation, I hope that the Ethics Committee will take up this matter.”

Democratic insiders close to Pelosi and other House leaders have told David Wu in no uncertain terms “that he has not support” from his colleagues or party leaders and they would like to see him resign as soon as possible.

A David Wu adviser, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told POLITICO on Sunday, “David Wu isn’t going to be running for reelection. But he hasn’t done anything that rises to the level of requiring him to resign.”

Missing Kinston mother Photos Release - Laura Jean Ackerson of North Carolina was last seen on the night of July 13, 2011. According to a police report, a friend reported her missing after she failed to pick up her children from her ex-husband's house on Friday. Today Raleigh police released two new surveillance photos Friday they hope will help them find a Kinston woman who went missing more than a week ago during a visit to the capital city. The photographs — extracted from a security camera’s video recording — show Laura Jean Ackerson, 27, the morning of July 13 entering an elevator in the lobby of what appears to be an office building or apartment complex.

Investigators with the Raleigh Police Department did not identify the business where the surveillance photos were taken, but said, at the time of the recording, Ackerson wore a brown sleeveless blouse and tan Capri pants. She carried a black leather bag with white lettering and a brown Liz Claiborne purse.

Ackerson was last seen later that evening around 9:30 p.m. in her 2006 Ford Focus after she dropped off her two sons at their father’s Raleigh home. Associates said the owner of GoFish Graphic Design and co-owner of Fork and Spoon Marketing, each based in Kinston, was also in Raleigh for business.

The four-door sedan turned up in Raleigh early Wednesday morning parked near the Camden Crest Apartments complex at 5400 Summit Manor Lane with no evidence available inside to suspect foul play in Ackerson’s disappearance.

At the request of the Kinston Department of Public Safety, the Raleigh Police Department has assumed the leading role in the investigation of Ackerson’s disappearance.

Laura Jean Ackerson is described as a white female who stands approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. Detectives noted Ackerson’s hair is believed to be shorter and darker than the photograph released at the onset of its investigation, showing her in a blue, red and turquoise blouse.

Friends of the missing woman call her “reliable” and consider her disappearance suspicious. They say the mother of two has a close relationship with her children and never goes anywhere without letting others know her whereabouts.
