Stealth: The strange design of the rotor tail has led many to speculate that U.S. Navy SEALs used a secret stealth helicopter in Sunday's raids. Daily Mail

Pakistan Lets China See US Helicopter -- Financial Times

Pakistan allowed Chinese military engineers to photograph and take samples from the top-secret stealth helicopter that US special forces left behind when they killed Osama bin Laden, the Financial Times has learnt.

The action is the latest incident to underscore the increasingly complicated relationship and lack of trust between Islamabad and Washington following the raid.

"The US now has information that Pakistan, particularly the ISI, gave access to the Chinese military to the downed helicopter in Abbottabad," said one person in intelligence circles, referring to the Pakistani spy agency. The Chinese engineers were allowed to survey the wreckage and take photographs of it, as well as take samples of the special "stealth" skin that allowed the American team to enter Pakistan undetected by radar, he said.

US Navy Seals, Seal Team 6 Loss Being Rejoiced In Pak Media, Bodies Back To US -- TWS

US Navy Seals and particularly Seal Team 6 loss is being rejoiced in Pak media (Urdu press). Meanwhile their bodies are being sent back to the US.

Many in Pakistan are rejoicing the death of US Navy Seals commandos that were killed two days ago in Afghanistan’s Saed Abad district. The loss of a helicopter is not new in Afghanistan. Difficult terrain and the fear of the enemy fire always keep the troops on their toes.

My Comment: This is not surprising. Pakistan has many Islamic radicals sympathetic to Al Qaeda/Taliban/and their allies, and they no love of the U.S. and its armed forces.

The CIA's Conflict With Pakistan's Intelligence Agency

A Revolving CIA Door In Pakistan -- Amir Mir, Asia Times

ISLAMABAD - The ever-growing mistrust between the military and intelligence establishments of the two key allies in the "war on terror" - Washington and Islamabad - has widened to such an extent in recent months that their damaged ties are unlikely to reach the same level at which they were prior to the American military raid in Abbottabad on May 2 that killed the most wanted al-Qaeda chief, Osama bin Laden.

As Pakistan-United States military and intelligence ties continue to deteriorate following the January arrest of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) contractor Raymond Davis for having killed two Pakistanis, Mark Carlton, the station chief of the CIA in Islamabad who oversaw the intelligence team that found the al-Qaeda chief, has been made to leave Pakistan prematurely.

My Comment: U.S. court cases against Pakistan's ISI chiefs .... coupled with the Bin Laden killing .... is what blew this relationship out of the water. Throw in Pakistan's support of certain elements in the Taliban, this relationship is now on life support.

How U.S. Drone Strikes In Pakistan Have Undermined Relations Between The Two Countries

Officials Question Drone Strike Timing -- Report -- AfPak Channel/Foreign Policy

The AP has a must-read detailing the strain caused by the timing of U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan, not just between the United States and Pakistan, but also between the CIA, who carry out the strikes, and the U.S. State Department (AP). The report tells the story of a frantic call from U.S. ambassador to Islamabad Cameron Munter, who must approve all drone strikes, to the CIA in an attempt to avert an imminent strike on March 17. That attack took place a day after CIA contractor Raymond Davis was freed from Pakistani custody, but CIA director Leon Panetta reportedly overruled Munter. An anonymous official said the strike, which Pakistan alleges killed up to 38 civilians, went forward because, "[the attack] was in retaliation for Davis...The CIA was angry."

U.S. Commandos Have Been Conducting Raids In Pakistan For A Very Long Time

It’s Not Just Bin Laden; U.S. Commandos Raid Pakistan All the Time -- Danger Room

U.S. special operations forces have regularly and “surreptitiously” slipped into Pakistan in recent years, raiding suspected terrorist hideouts on Pakistani soil. The team that killed Osama bin Laden — those guys alone had conducted “10 to 12″ of those missions before they hit that infamous compound in Abbottabad.

In a remarkable story for this week’s New Yorker, Nicholas Schmidle puts together the most detailed picture so far of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. But the most combustible component of the explosive article might be the disclosure that U.S. commandos sneak into Pakistan on the regular.

My Comment: I cannot say that I am surprised, but this will be one more reason/excuse for the Pakistasnis to be "pissed-off" with us.
