Before leaving his Northeast Philadelphia home to take the bins to their final stop, Voice drinks more coffee, cleans his shoes and a badge, and says goodbye to his wife and 4-year-old son.
It's a routine workday morning for Voice, whose task is anything but ordinary.

Syria Kills At Least 150 On Ramadan Eve -- Bloomberg
At least 150 people were killed in Syria yesterday, al Jazeera reported, as soldiers sought to reassert control over a restive nation in one of the deadliest bouts of violence since the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad began more than four months ago.
The army took action the day before the start of Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting and prayer. Tanks shelled Hama, Syria’s fourth-largest city, where at least 113 people were killed, the Qatari-based television network said, citing the National Organization for Human Rights in Syria.

Parties Agree To Debt-Ceiling Deal, Pending Votes In Congress -- L.A. Times
Reporting from Washington — Senate Majority Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Sunday night that they had come to an agreement on a deal that would raise the federal debt limit and reduce the deficit.
In back-to-back speeches on the Senate floor, Reid (D-Nev.) called the compact an "historic, bipartisan compromise that ends this dangerous standoff," while McConnell (R-Ky.) said there was now a framework in place to "ensure significant cuts in Washington spending."

My Comment: So .... President Obama and his Democrat allies have the money that they need to buy votes and constituents in 2012, and the Republicans can go to their base and claim that they are steering Washington in the right direction of attaining a balance budget.
Sighhh .... I (of course) do not see it that way. I only see more debt and promises that will be broken and/or forgotten when it comes to doing the necessary cuts in programs and entitlements. Expect a downgrade in American credit by rating agencies (Egan-Jones already has), and a further depreciation of the U.S. dollar (thank God I get paid in Canadian dollars).

My Comment: Tonight's agreement in Washington on resolving the US debt problem is NOT going to solve the long term U.S. problem of too much debt, and a trend of even greater debt in the future. Credit rating agencies have been blunt that none of these plans will maintain America's credit rating, and for foreign holders of debt like China .... expect further depreciation and a lower value of your US holdings.

My Comment: Another Israel - Hezbollah will be a welcome distraction supported by many of the regions tyrants .... And it is because of this need to change the narrative, that Hezbollah is now being pushed to start such a conflict .... a conflict that the Israelis themselves are more than eager to get embroiled into without any reservations.
What is my prediction .... I do not expect war, but if war breaks out the destruction that it will cause in Israel will be severe, and in response the Israelis will unleash a level of destruction on Lebanon not seen since the Israeli invasion of 1982.

My Comment: What is my take .... such a program would never be authorized .... I repeat .... it would be authorized unless it was OK'd by senior officials in the Justice department .... and maybe even higher than that. To think that this was a rogue operation from certain ATF officers is not convincing, especially in regards to the large number of weapons involved.
But .... there is still enough evidence (or lack of) to make one wonder if administration officials were kept in the dark, and that this was in fact a rogue operation. Either way .... this scandal is screaming for a special prosecutor .... and one should be appointed in the next few months.
